About this database

Every device here is cross-checked against the manufacturer's own spec page (Apple, Samsung, Google, Xiaomi, OnePlus, OPPO, Dell, Lenovo, Microsoft) and reconciled with GSMArena where the manufacturer omits a field. PPI is calculated directly from native resolution and diagonal size when the vendor does not publish it.

What's covered

69 devices across 11 brands and 6 release years — phones, tablets, laptops, desktops, and monitors. Every entry powers the on-screen ruler tool so you can verify measurements with a physical object.

How accurate is this?

Screen size is the diagonal the manufacturer markets, not the visible active-area diagonal, which is typically ~0.1" smaller. PPI values are rounded to the nearest integer. Release dates are the global retail ship date, not the announcement date.

How to use this database

Filter 69 devices, click any row to see full specs and open the real-size ruler.
  1. Use the search box or the brand, OS, year, type, and size filters to narrow the list.
  2. Click any device row to open its detail page.
  3. Read the full specs — screen size, resolution, PPI, display technology, and refresh rate.
  4. Click 'Open ruler for this device' to launch the real-size ruler pre-calibrated for that screen.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find a specific device's screen specs?
Type any device name (for example 'iPhone 17 Pro' or 'Galaxy S25') into the search box at the top of the page, or use the filters — brand, operating system, release year, type, or screen size range — to narrow the list. Click the device row to open its full spec page.
What does PPI mean and why does it matter?
PPI (pixels per inch) measures pixel density — how many pixels fit into one linear inch of screen. Above about 300 PPI, individual pixels become invisible at normal viewing distance. Higher PPI produces sharper text and smoother curves, especially noticeable on small UI elements.
Are these specs verified?
Every device entry is cross-checked against the manufacturer's official spec sheet (Apple, Samsung, Google, and others). We pull screen size, resolution, PPI, display technology, refresh rate, and release date directly from the product page.
Can I open a ruler for any device in this database?
Most devices have a matching real-size ruler page at /ruler/<device-slug>. Open any device's spec page and click the 'Open ruler for this device' CTA to jump directly to the ruler pre-calibrated for that screen.

Screen Rulers by Device Pick your device for a pre-calibrated ruler that accounts for your screen's PPI automatically. Every screen has a different pixel density — a 1 cm line on an iPhone is a different number of pixels than on an iPad. These device pages skip calibration and show an accurate ruler instantly.
